Σε μια επίσκεψή μου στην Καλαμπάκα<, πριν περίπου ένα χρόνο είχα μια ενδιαφέρουσα συζήτηση με τον αντιδήμαρχο τουρισμού αθλητισμού κ. Ράντο, ο οποίος με ενημέρωσε για το τεράστιο τουριστικό ενδιαφέρον από όλο τον κόσμο που παρουσιάζουν τα Μετέωρα.
Πράγμα καθόλου περίεργο βεβαίως αν αναλογιστεί κανείς περί τίνος πρόκειται! Με αφορμή λοιπόν την πολύ μεγάλη προσέλευση επισκεπτών ο δήμος δημιούργησε ένα γραφείο ενημέρωσης τουρισμού, (στην πλατεία Δημαρχείου) από τα καλύτερα και πιο οργανωμένα που θα βρείτε στην χώρα! Πρόκειται για το infotourist, ένας αυτόνομος χώρος στο ισόγειο του δημαρχείου στον οποίο μας ξενάγησε ο κ. Ράντος.
Το infotourist λοιπόν είναι γραφείο πληροφοριών τουρισμού του δήμου (δωρεά της Μονής Αγίου Στεφάνου) αλλά δεν είναι απλά μια υπηρεσία ενημέρωσης των επισκεπτών, είναι ένα πρότυπο γραφείο τουρισμού άριστα οργανωμένο. Οθόνες αφής σε 3 γλώσσες, ψηφιακές εντυπωσιακές φωτογραφίες, πληρέστατοι ενημερωτικοί έντυποι οδηγοί (επίσης σε 3 γλώσσες), άμεση συνεργασία με τους ιδιωτικούς φορείς εναλλακτικού τουρισμού (και όχι μόνο), καταρτισμένοι και ευγενέστατοι υπάλληλοι, είναι κάποια απ όσα έμαθα και είδα.
Εξυπηρετεί άριστα, χιλιάδες κόσμου κάθε μήνα από όλες της γωνιές του κόσμου και ελπίζω να αποτελεί ή έστω να αποτελέσει παράδειγμα προς μίμηση για όλες τις αντίστοιχες υπηρεσίες σε όλη τη χώρα.
